Sachin (Hindi: सचिन) is one of the major Industrial city in Surat Metropolitan Region in the Indian state of Gujarat. The town is located 11 km south of Udhana and 19 km from Surat on old Surat-Udhana-Mumbai highway. Sachin is also a Railway junction on Surat-Navsari line. The town is one of Asia's largest Industrial areas.

History

Sachin was a princely state in India during the British Raj. The ruler held the title of Nawab.

Sachin was an independent princely state during independence but after the formation of Gujarat state it was merged in Surat district. Sachin is the south-most town of Surat district. The town had good location as a result of which many industries were established by GIDC. The Sachin Industrial Area is Asia's second largest Industrial Settlement in terms of area.
